Chris Nihan is an energy economics expert and seasoned leader with over a decade of experience in clean energy, EV charging, and automotive strategy. He began his career at SolarCity, and after the Tesla acquisition was selected as one of the first four retail managers to launch Tesla Energy in the Northeast — leading a 20-plus-person team through the transition to consultative energy ecosystem sales.
Chris later joined ChargePoint, where he first managed DC fast charging deployment projects and then consulted with utilities and policymakers on best practices for funding programs. He has led competitive bids and funding strategies across 15-plus states, securing more than $60 million for marquee clients. In 2021, he built ChargePoint's Dealer Strategy Program as Director of Automotive Strategy, growing the team to 20 employees and driving $125-plus million in revenue within 18 months.
