From architecture to the front lines of electrification
Justin Ries is a trained architect and LEED AP who pivoted early to clean energy — bringing a builder's instinct for systems and scale to an industry that needed it. He began his career at SolarCity, developing the commercial discipline that would define everything that followed.
At Tesla, Justin oversaw more than 120 salespeople scaling solar, storage, and EV adoption — managing the full pipeline from customer engagement through installation across a large and growing sales organization.
He joined ChargePoint and led the Eastern U.S. sales region to #1 revenue for three consecutive years. He then created and led the Pre-Construction division — building a $500M+ new construction pipeline and tripling ChargePoint's specification share in a single year. That achievement — getting EV charging specified at the design stage across commercial and multifamily development — is the kind of upstream leverage that defines how infrastructure gets built at scale.
